Panoramic Thessaloniki cityscape view: sea, city, and mountains

Accessible
Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki for thse who are looking for a place that perfectly blends history, culture, amazing food, and a lively atmosphere. Sitting right by the sea in northern Greece, Thessaloniki is a city where every street tells a story. You can wander through ancient Roman ruins, stand in awe inside centuries-old Byzantine churches, and then, five minutes later, be sipping coffee at a trendy waterfront café. The mix of old and new here is electric — and somehow, it all fits together perfectly.

The city's heart beats along its beautiful promenade, stretching for miles along the Thermaic Gulf. Imagine walking there at sunset, with the White Tower — Thessaloniki’s iconic symbol — standing proudly against a pink and orange sky. It's pure magic.

The Waterfront (Nea Paralia)

This is one of the most beautiful parts of Thessaloniki, it's a super long promenade by the sea with smooth, flat pathways, wheelchair ramps, parks, sculptures, gardens, and tons of benches to rest. Perfect for a relaxed stroll or rolling along while watching the sunset.

The White Tower

The White Tower, Thessaloniki’s most famous landmark, is accessible at the entrance and ground floor. Inside, there's an elevator to help people get to the top, though it's small and might not fit larger mobility devices. Still, the outdoor area around the tower is wide open and very easy to navigate.

This huge, open square right in the city center is flat, open, and easy to move around. It's surrounded by cafés and shops with accessible outdoor seating. It’s also a great place to people-watch and soak in the vibe of the city.

This award-winning museum is fully wheelchair accessible, smooth floors, elevators, ramps and it's packed with fascinating exhibits from Thessaloniki's Byzantine past. Plus, it's air-conditioned, which is a blessing in the summer heat.

Another major museum that’s totally accessible, showing off incredible finds from ancient Macedonia (like gold wreaths and statues). Wide corridors, elevators, and ramps make it easy to enjoy at your own pace.
