What you will visit...

  1. Temple of Demeter:

After picking you up from your hotel, our journey begins at the Temple of Demeter, an ancient site dating back to 530 BC. This spectacular temple, recently restored to its former glory, is dedicated to Demeter, the goddess of agriculture and fertility. Its architecture showcases some of the earliest examples of marble construction in ancient Greece. Adjacent to the temple, you’ll find a fascinating archaeological museum, where you can explore artifacts and findings unearthed from the site, offering a deeper understanding of the temple’s history and its significance in Greek culture.

  1. Damalas Village:

From there, we continue to Damalas, a picturesque village nestled in the heart of the Tragea Valley. Known for its tranquil atmosphere, this charming village offers a glimpse into traditional Naxian life. You’ll witness a live demonstration at the island’s only remaining traditional pottery workshop, where skilled artisans craft beautiful ceramics using techniques passed down through generations. Additionally, you’ll visit a restored olive press, where you’ll learn about the traditional process of olive oil production, an essential part of Naxian heritage.

  2. Chalki Village:

Next, we’ll explore Chalki, a stunning neoclassical village brimming with charm. Wander through its narrow, picturesque alleys lined with colorful buildings and blooming bougainvillea. While in Chalki, we’ll visit the citron distillery and museum, where you can learn about the production of the island’s famous citron liqueur, a unique local specialty. Take some time to enjoy an espresso at one of the elegant cafés, soaking in the village’s sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. Before leaving Chalki, we’ll stop at the Panagia Drossiani, the oldest Byzantine church on the island, dating back to the 4th-6th century AD. This historic church is renowned for its unique architectural design and beautifully preserved frescoes.

  3. Apollonas:

Our journey then takes us to the northern part of Naxos, where we’ll arrive at Apollonas, a small Cycladic village located on the island’s northeastern edge. Known for its serene beauty, Apollonas offers a taste of authentic island life. Stroll along its peaceful waterfront, admire the quaint whitewashed houses, and enjoy the scenic coastal views.
